Job Description: U.S. Steel's Tubular Threading and Inspections Services (TTIS)
plant in Houston is seeking entry level inspectors. We offer competitive pay and
benefits.
Primary Responsibilities & Requirements:
Operate inspection equipment to perform
non-destructive testing and be able interpret the results in magnetic particle (MT),
electromagnetic (ET), and ultrasonic (UT). Perform non-destructive
tests on tubular products. Calibrates and adjusts ultrasonic test equipment to
required standards and settings.
Maintain a high level of safety standards and
follow all Safety guidelines.
SNT-TC-1A certification, Level I -
required. Level II certification in ET, MT, and UT preferred.
Work Environment:
The job is within a heavy industrial environment
and you may be required to work within various areas of the mill. Dependent upon
the area you will work in, the environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty,
greasy, wet, and noisy.
As you also know, the position requires you to
work rotating shifts, which will include Saturdays and Sundays. The position
also requires you to work overtime as needed.
Additionally, safety is our highest priority and
safety procedures/guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes
safety wear such as hard hat, goggles, hearing protection, and protective
clothing and work boots with metatarsal protection. Punctuality and attendance
are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as
contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere.
